Buffalo Trace Releases 6 Grain Certified Organic Whiskey

Bourbon

May 9, 2017

Buffalo Trace announced its latest experimental release today–Organic Six Grain Whiskey. And yes, before you call the organic police, the company claims all grains were “certified organic.”

Distilled in May 2010, it’s corn, buckwheat, brown rice, sorghum, wheat, and rice. Milled, cooked and made into sour mash before being distilled on Buffalo Trace’s experimental micro-still to 130 proof white dog, the whiskey enters eight new charred (Char No. 4) white oak barrels and aged in Warehouse H for seven years and one month, the company said.

Chill filtered and bottled at 90 proof, the whiskey is a part of the company’s Experimental Collection that currently has more than 14,000 experimental barrels aging in warehouses.

Packaged in 375ml bottles, each label includes all the pertinent information unique to that barrel of whiskey. These whiskeys retail for approximately $46.35 each and will be available in late May, 2017, the company said.
