Facebook Blocked Heaven Hill Story; Whiskey Available Outside Ky.

Bourbon

December 11, 2015

After my Best Bourbon This Holiday Season story posted, little did I know that my pick was so controversial that Facebook took it down for being “unsafe.” Within hours of readers posting my $10 steal, Facebook  told users the “content you’re trying to share includes a link that our security systems detected to be unsafe.”

I was never given an explanation, but I contacted Facebook and it’s now shareable again.

Once the story was reposted, my $10 Heaven Hill 6-year-old Green Label pick was applauded by most and a few commented that they found the whiskey outside of Kentucky. I had reported it was only available in Kentucky, a fact three Heaven Hill sources told me. But there’s no denying the stock reported on Oregon’s liquor commission page or the photos sent to me in states outside of Kentucky.

Thus, I reached out to Heaven Hill for a response. Is this great value product available outside of Kentucky? Are these leftover bottles?

Heaven Hill’s statement: “Over the past few years, a handful of cases of Heaven Hill Green Label 6/90 have sold to markets beyond Kentucky and Indiana. We are not actively selling the product in those markets. In spirit, you are 100% correct. It is especially rare to find the product outside of the immediate area. … In the future, I’m certain the likelihood of the product sneaking beyond Kentucky and Indiana will continue to diminish.”

In other words, other states have it. How many, I don’t know, but wherever it is, it’s of great value. One responder reported it cost $12.99, which is still a great value. Once it goes over $25, I would recommend another product. But for now, it’s in the $10 range, a steal for the quality inside the bottle. Let’s just hope Facebook let’s you share this time.
