Woodford Reserve unveiled the artwork for its 2021 commemorative Kentucky Derby bottle.
This year’s bottle features the artwork of Louisville’s Richard Sullivan, a former professional baseball player. His work is featured the Atlanta Braves’ Trust Park, at Mercedes Benz Stadium and at the National Baseball Hall of Fame. He also created the art for last year’s bottle.
The watercolor Sullivan created for this year’s bottle depicts thoroughbreds in the homestretch and was designed as a compliment to last year’s artwork.
“The Kentucky Derby is resplendent with color, pageantry, and pure athleticism — and I wanted to capture that in my artwork,” Sullivan said, adding that he enjoys the parallels between sports and creativity, connecting two seemingly divided worlds that, in reality, require the same sense of dedication, practice, and expertise.
The commemorative Kentucky Derby bottles have been a Woodford Reserve tradition since 1999. The one-liter bottles of Woodford Reserve Bourbon will be available across the United States and the globe with an SRP of $49.99. It is available for pre-sale starting March 2 on Reserve Bar.Stay In Touch!
