Templeton Announces Small Business Grants, New 10 Year Reserve Rye

Iowa-based Templeton Distillery, producer of Templeton Rye, announced it will $10,000 grants to three small businesses as part of its Templeton Distillery Entrepreneur’s Grant program.

Winners will be selected by a panel of a few of notable Iowa natives, including Brandon Routh (Superman Returns, Legends Of Tomorrow) and Hill Harper(The Good Doctor). Keith Kerkhoff, Templeton Distillery’s co-founder, also is on the panel, along with the founders of local Iowa-based businesses, Christina Moffatt(Crème Cupcake + Dessert) and Pernell Cezarand Rod Johnson (BLK & Bold Specialty Beverage).

Applications area now open, and businesses interested can apply through July 11.

All U.S.-based businesses are invited to apply for the Templeton Distillery Entrepreneur’s Grant, excluding those that sell alcohol or are owned by anyone under the age of 21. To enter, businesses will submit 250 words about why they should be considered. Entries will be judged on originality (40%), contributions to the local community (40%), and business viability (20%).

Templeton also announced a new addition to its core line in Templeton Rye 10 Year Reserve. In addition, the 4- and 6-year expressions will be sold with updated packaging designs. The 10 Year Old Reserve Rye will be bottled at 104 proof with an SRP of $85 per 750ml bottle.
