Quincy Street Distillery Releases 9-Year-Old Rye
Quincy Street Distillery announced the release of its North American Steamship Rye 9-year-old Bottled-in-Bond straight single malt rye whiskey.
The distillery bills it as the oldest craft whiskey distilled and bottled in Illinois. The 100% malt rye whiskey was aged over 9 years ago in a full-sized barrel with a heavy toast and light char, the distillery said.
The long aging resulted in more than 50% angel’s share loss in the barrel, but provided concentrated and complex flavors, yet producing far fewer bottles than Quincy Street’s regular 4-year-old bottling.
Available only at the distillery Retail Shop, North American Steamship Rye 9-year-old Bottled-in-Bond (750ml, 50% alc by vol, 100 proof) for a price of $126.00 plus tax. Supplies are limited.
