Hawai’i-based Kōloa Rum Company announced a new distribution partnership with Reyes Beverage Group (RBG) in California.

The distributor transition follows RNDC’s recent announcement that it will no longer operate in California, prompting Kōloa Rum Company to seek a partner with strong in-state capabilities to ensure continued growth and availability across the region.

“California has always been a vital market for Kōloa Rum, and this transition ensures we can continue building momentum in the state,” Bob Gunter, President & CEO of Kōloa Rum Company, said in a news release. “We’re pleased to partner with Reyes Beverage Group, whose strong presence and proven capabilities in the market will support our continued growth. This transition marks an important step in Kōloa Rum’s long-term national growth strategy and comes at an exciting time for the company, which recently launched its newest innovations, Kōloa Kaua’i Cane Fire Hot Cinnamon Flavored Hawaiian Rum and Kōloa Kaua’i Single-Batch Aged Rum. 

Founded in 2009 and rooted in the rich agricultural traditions of Kaua’i, Kōloa Rum Company produces a portfolio of handcrafted rums using cane sugar and pristine rainwater from Mount Waiʻaleʻale. All rums are distilled, blended, and bottled at the company’s distillery in Kalaheo, Kaua’i.

Kōloa Rum is currently available in 36 states, as well as select international markets, and was the first licensed distillery on the island of Kaua’i since the end of Prohibition.
