Buzzard’s Roost to Release Jim Gaffigan Collab Bourbon
Coinciding with Jim Gaffigan’s live shows in Louisville, Buzzard’s Roost announced a new single barrel bourbon, selected in collaboration with Mr. Gaffigan.
This special release is a 6-year-old whiskey coming in at 112.2-proof, with a mash bill of 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% malted barley. Bottles are available now, exclusively at Buzzard’s Roost Distillery and Tasting Room at 624 W. Main Street on Whiskey Row. Retail price per bottle is $125. Each bottle features a commemorative Jim Gaffigan label.
“We had a great time working on this one,” Jason Brauner, co-founder and master blender at Buzzard’s Roost, said in a news release. “Jim Gaffigan discovered our whiskeys about a year ago, and we agreed to create a single barrel in honor of his new show entitled ‘The Bourbon Set,’ with four performances in Louisville this week.”
The final selection is a 6-year-old bourbon that underwent secondary maturation in one of Buzzard’s Roost’s custom-toasted barrels.
“Our unique double oak process really shines in this bourbon, with notes of molasses, graham cracker, ginger snaps and a long finish of warm, toasted marzipan,” Brauner added.
Buzzard’s Roost will be pouring samples at the after-party after the late performance on Thursday, Oct. 9. Tickets to all four of his shows can be purchased at JimGaffigan.com.
