Copperworks Releases Farmsmith American Single Malt Whiskey
Copperworks Distilling Co. has released a new Farmsmith American Single Malt Whiskey, distilled from a single varietal Genie Pale Malt from Coulee Hite farms in Reardan, Washington, and malted by LINC Malt in Spokane.
This barley comes from a unique hot dry zone just west of Spokane. After distillation, the whiskey matured in four new American oak casks for five years and three months.
The previous Farmsmith release, distilled from Baronesse barley grown at Joseph’s Grainery in Colfax, took gold at the 2025 American Craft Spirits Association Competition before selling out completely. This new release continues Copperworks’ exploration of single variety, single farm, and single growing year Washington barley.
“We’ve only been able to source Genie Pale Malt from this hot dry zone once in our history,” Copperworks President and Co-Founder Jason Parker said in a news release. “That makes this release genuinely rare, not just limited, but unrepeatable. The terroir from Reardan’s growing conditions in 2020 is captured in these bottles.”
“The Farmsmith series lets us showcase what happens when you isolate every variable–single variety, single farm, single year,” Copperworks Co-Owner and Vice President Jeff Kanof said. “This Genie Pale Malt spent over five years developing the kind of complexity you can only get from patience and exceptional Washington barley.”
Farmsmith is bottled at 100 proof and has an SRP of $69.99.
Copperworks is offering a special Old Fashioned crafted with Farmsmith American Single Malt Whiskey, served with a ½ oz taste of the new Farmsmith release. If guests order this Old Fashioned and purchase a bottle of Farmsmith, the cost of the cocktail will be applied as a discount toward the bottle price.
The whiskey is available at both tasting rooms through winter.
