Frey Ranch Distillery – a farm-to-glass American Whiskey distilleries and a proud of the University of Kentucky’s Estate Whiskey Alliance (EWA) – announced a new permanent expression in its award-winning portfolio of American Whiskeys with the debut of Frey Ranch Farm Strength Uncut Rye. 

Available exclusively in its online whiskey shop at https://shop.freyranch.com and in the Frey Ranch Tasting Room for $79.99, the new cask strength rye joins Frey Ranch Four Grain Bourbon, Frey Ranch Bottled-in-Bond Straight Rye, and Frey Ranch Farm Strength Uncut Bourbon as part of the brand’s core, always available line up.

The inaugural batch of Frey Ranch Farm Strength Uncut Rye is bottled at 124.52 proof and aged for a minimum of six years. A true expression of the rye grown at the 2,500-acre farm, the brand’s new flagship whiskey is made from a mashbill of 100% Canadian Winter Rye – a hearty variety of rye built for growing in cold weather environments, such as Northern Nevada where temperatures can drop to single digits during winter. 

Bottled at cask strength, the spirit remains untouched by dilution, delivering an American Rye in its purest, most authentic form. As with all Frey Ranch Whiskeys, Frey Ranch Farm Strength Uncut Rye is produced using 100% of the slow-grown grains that are grown, harvested, milled, and distilled on the Frey Ranch farm year-round by Co-Founder and Whiskey Farmer Colby Frey.

“Our Farm Strength Uncut Bourbon has outperformed even our wildest expectations since we launched it in the summer of 2023,” Frey said, “so it made logical sense for us to expand our cask strength core offerings with a rye whiskey – especially as ultra-premium ryes defy the category downturn and are experiencing substantial growth within the overall American Whiskey industry.”

Using his own slow-grown grains that take Northern Nevada’s climate, topography, and terroir into account provides Colby with almost unlimited freedom to experiment with different grain varieties and blends.
