The Macallan has unveiled the sixth and concluding release in The Harmony Collection, marking the final chapter in a series that explores the brand’s deep-rooted connection to the natural world.

The Macallan Harmony Collection, a limited annual release series, consistently draws inspiration from collaborations with chefs, connoisseurs and artists to create distinctive whiskies with unique flavor profiles. Previous Harmony editions include partnerships with Cirque Du Soleil, Stella and Mary McCartney, and JING Tea.

Crafted by The Macallan’s Whisky Mastery team, the release comprises two distinctive single malt Scotch whiskies: Inspired by Fresh Coconut and Inspired by Toasted Coconut. Through precise cask selection and maturation expertise, the team has drawn forward a nuanced coconut character rarely present in The Macallan.

Bottled at 46.3% ABV, The Macallan Harmony Collection, Inspired by Fresh Coconut reveals notes of fresh coconut, citrus and tropical fruits layered with vanilla, sweet oak and gentle spice. The latter, The Macallan Harmony Collection, Inspired by Toasted Coconut, is a richer expression characterized by toasted coconut, crème caramel and white chocolate on the nose. 

The whiskies are matured in a combination of sherry-seasoned American oak casks and casks that previously held bourbon. The natural properties of American oak heighten the presence of coconut notes, while the cask combination ensures balance, allowing this character to come through with clarity.

“With this concluding release in The Harmony Collection, we have carefully guided coconut notes to the forefront of the whisky through precise cask selection and maturation,” Kirsteen Campbell, Master Whisky Maker at The Macallan, said in a news release. “The result is two beautifully balanced expressions that showcase both the natural influence of oak and the skill of our Whisky Mastery team, where each element has been carefully shaped to achieve a harmonious and distinctive character.”

As the concluding release in The Harmony Collection, these expressions bring the series back to where the journey first began – The Macallan Estate. Extending the experience beyond the glass, The Harmony Collection is brought to life through the TimeSpirit Dining Experience, a creative collaboration with the world-renowned El Celler de Can Roca. United by an insatiable curiosity, quest for knowledge, and dedication to innovation, TimeSpirit is El Celler de Can Roca’s first dining concept outside of Spain, building on a partnership spanning over a decade between the Roca Brothers and The Macallan.

Inspired by the whisky, a series of sweet creations by acclaimed pastry chef Jordi Roca are paired with a selection of unique serves. A series of six bespoke cocktail serves have been created to complement the whiskies, each designed to highlight and interpret the coconut character in different ways. From bright, tropical and citrus-led profiles to richer, creamier and indulgent notes, the serves offer a fresh perspective on how The Macallan can be experienced.

In keeping with the collection’s ethos of material innovation, the presentation boxes for both whiskies are crafted using discarded coconut fibers, transformed through an emission-free process into a richly textured material with a natural black hue, embracing the use of organic materials in their packaging and creating beauty from resources at the end of their natural lives.
