Tequila Ocho to Open Temporary Beachside Attraction in L.A.
Tequila Ocho announced that it will open the doors to Casa de Ocho, a two-month residency along the Venice Boardwalk and beneath the famed string light “Venice” sign in the heart of one of LA’s most iconic seaside enclaves.
Spanning August and September, Casa de Ocho is a celebration of all things agave featuring tastings, dinners, parties, takeovers by some of the best bars from across the globe, and even new product rollouts.
“Tequila Ocho started as an experiment by co-founders Carlos Camarena and the late Tomas Estes to prove that terroir exists in spirits,” Chris Dunn, Assistant Vice President, Agave Spirits for Heaven Hill Brands, said in a news release. “Globally, there is no other place that has supported that vision the way California has. Casa de Ocho is a way for us to give back to this incredible community and to say thank you to those who have been with us every step of the way.”
Activations inside the multi-level Casa de Ocho include bar takeovers from World’s 50 Best Bar, El Gallo Altanero (Guadalajara, MX), Tales of the Cocktail 2024 “Best US Cocktail Bar” Spirited Award winner Yacht Club (Denver), and LA’s own Mirate and Daisy bars, and more.
Camarena will host a seminar on tequila and another of his passions, coffee; while his oldest daughter, Commercial Director for Mexico Fany Camarena, will host a rooftop discussion of puntas, the “sweet spot” of the distillation.
