Middle West Releases Vino de Naranja Cask-Finished Whiskey
Middle West Spirits announced the limited release of it’s Vino de Naranja Cask-Finished Whiskey as part of its Double Cask Collection. This five-year, single-barrel release is a 50/50 blend of Middle West’s rye and wheat whiskies and is bottled at 61.1% ABV.
Middle West Vino de Naranja Cask-Finished Whiskey is aged for more than five years, with the first four years spent in American white oak barrels that impart hints of vanilla, leather and spice. The whiskey is then harvested and transferred into sun-soaked Vino de Naranja casks for an additional one to two years, where it develops soft notes of sweet orange peel. The resulting whiskey showcases flavors of Seville orange, buttercream, toasted oak, honey and baking spice.
Founded in 2008 in Columbus, Ohio, Middle West Spirits is an award-winning, independently owned craft distillery rooted in the heart of Ohio’s grain belt. The team oversees every step of production, from seed selection and on-site grain processing to distilling, aging, blending and bottling. Its true grain-to-glass approach celebrates Ohio’s agricultural heritage and the craftsmanship that defines the region.
The Vino de Naranja Cask-Finished Whiskey (SRP: $99.99) is available at select retailers throughout Ohio and online through the Middle West Spirits bottle shop while supplies last.
