Green River Distilling Co. will commemorate the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary with a limited release whiskey marking the milestone. The official anniversary bourbon will be available throughout the next year, beginning next month.

Founded on June 14, 1775, the establishment of the U.S. Army predates the signing of the Declaration of Independence and marked a critical moment in the colonies’ pursuit of freedom. Green River has a a longstanding connection to the armed forces. 

The commemorative release will debut on June 14, 2025. Presented at 111.1 Proof (55.55% alc. by vol.) in a nod to Veteran’s Day (November 11), this limited bottling will be available at a suggested retail price of $49.99. 

Green River’s Army 250th Anniversary edition is a small batch selection of 4- to 7-year-old barrels featuring a distinct mashbill of 77 percent corn, 14 percent rye, 9 percent malted barley. It will be available at select military bases, Green River’s homeplaces in Owensboro and Louisville, and select online and physical retail locations throughout the country.

“This whiskey is a salute to 250 years of courage, commitment and sacrifice,” Col. (ret.) A portion of proceeds will directly enhance quality of life for soldiers and their families including wellbeing, sports, fitness, libraries, entertainment and recreation.
