Westland Releases Beer, Wine Cask Finished Single Malts
Washington State is long-established for its globally acclaimed winemaking and craft brewing traditions – each of which have informed the creation of the award-winning Westland American Single Malt Whiskeys from Westland Distillery since it was founded in 2010.
Westland now introduces the second batch in its Cask Exploration Series of Beer Cask and Wine Cask Finish American Single Malts, expressions of its continued commitment to uncompromising flavor and to bottling the Pacific Northwest “sense of place.”
Westland’s Cask Exploration Series, which originally launched in 2024, delves into the vast possibilities of cask finishing. Beer Cask Finish American Single Malt Whiskey, Batch No. 2, and Wine Cask Finish American Single Malt Whiskey, Batch No. 2, (each 46%ABV, 700ml, $74.99 SRP) bring together regional beer and wine producers to further showcase the region’s distinctive terroir and cultural tapestry.
“Westland set out to express the place we live,” Shane Armstrong, Westland’s Master Blender, said in a news release. “The Cask Exploration Series extends that through collaboration with brewers and winemakers of the PNW – notes woven with our whiskey are pieces to the puzzle of our region. The second batch incorporates new varietals/beer types made from trusted Washington producers, continuing the connection from a different vantage.”
Available via e-commerce this August and nationwide this September, the 2025 Batches have already garnered awards, including Double Platinums for both Wine Cask Finish and Beer Cask Finish No. 2 in the ASCOT Awards.
