Single Cask Nation Cawder Springs bottle SQUARE

Single Cask Nation announced the release of three new single-cask, single malt whiskies from Scotland – BenRiach 14 Year Old, Cawdor Springs 8 Year Old and Clynelish 12 Year Old – available exclusively online.

These new expressions were hand-selected by brand founders Joshua Hatton and Jason Johnstone-Yellin, whose Single Cask Nation was named Independent Bottler of the Year in 2024 and 2025 by Whisky Magazine’s Icons of Whisky America Awards.

“Single Cask Nation focuses on bottling unique whiskies,” Hatton said in a news release. “This month, we’re sharing both the unexpected and the most beloved. In the case of BenRiach and Cawdor Springs, these expressions are unlike anything either distillery has ever released; in the case of Clynelish, we’re putting what this distillery does best on a pedestal – the quintessential Clynelish flavor profile.”

BenRiach 14-Year-Old Toasted Chinkapin Oak (4-Year Finish)

(57.9% ABV; $140 SRP; 172 Bottles)

“BenRiach is a classic Speyside distillery renowned for its incredibly fruity style; it became a whisky-household name under the guidance and care of Billy Walker before he sold it onto Brown-Forman,” Hatton said. “The extra four years in second-fill Chinkapin Oak (lightly toasted/medium char) not only enhanced the natural tropical fruit flavors but brings forth a wonderful spicy character that keeps you coming back for another sip. This is our first BenRiach cask bottled for the U.S. since we launched almost 15 years ago. This whisky could not be more different than our previous BenRiach; it’s definitely just as excellent.”

Cawdor Springs 8-Year-Old New Charred Oak Quarter Cask (3-Year Finish)

(58.6% ABV; $85 SRP; 179 bottles)

“While we are unable to tell you name of this distillery, we can tell you ‘Cawdor Springs’ is the name of the water source the distillery used to produce this gem of a whisky,” Johnston-Yellin said. “As whiskies lovers first and foremost, we bottled this with the idea that it will be a whisky for sharing early and often. It’s just that sort of whisky. Butterscotch, garam masala, and toasted oak notes play so nicely together while cinnamon and melting vanilla ice cream elements dip in and out of the experience. With flavors like this, does the distillery name really matter? Perhaps not…”

Clynelish 12-Year-Old First Fill Bourbon

(61.1% ABV; $120 SRP; 228 bottles)

“Known for its rich, waxy texture and big fruity flavors, you can understand why the Clynelish distillery plays such an important role in some of the world’s biggest blends and why it has such a following amongst whisky geeks,” Hatton said. “Surely a classic example from this cherished Highland distillery, the vanilla custard sweetness, orange marmalade tartness, pineapple rings, and a peppery, waxy finish scream Clynelish. We’re so very proud of this cask.”

“Independent bottling is a longtime tradition in Scotland, and these three expressions are a perfect example of why that is,” Johnstone-Yellin said. “Our most ardent whisky fans, those we lovingly refer to as ‘Caskheads’ within ‘The Nation’ – some of whom have been with us since we started almost 15 years ago – expect us to uncover the unexpected and very best, which you’ll find here to make your whisky journey more exciting.”

In addition to the independent bottlings released online, Single Cask Nation also offers bottlings through select retailers nationwide. Joining The Nation is as simple as purchasing a bottle from the Single Cask Nation website. In addition, Hatton and Johnstone-Yellin are the co-hosts of the One Nation Under Whisky podcast.
