Russell’s Reserve announced the release of Single Rickhouse 2025 – Camp Nelson E, the fourth addition to its acclaimed Single Rickhouse Collection.

The Collection explores whiskey “terroir” and how the exact location of the rickhouse, an often-overlooked detail, influences the whiskey’s final character. Now available in select markets, the 2025 edition from Camp Nelson E explores an entirely different environmental profile than the past releases – one shaped by shade, airflow, and cooler, slower aging conditions.

When it came to exploring this year’s release, Master Distiller Eddie Russell and his team turned to Camp Nelson E, an iconic, 1946-built rickhouse tucked deep among the trees on Camp Nelson’s property edge. Located closer to the Kentucky River than the other rickhouses on the Camp Nelson campus, Camp Nelson E runs North-South along the river, subjecting it to different wind patterns off the river and more consistent shading throughout the year.

Its unique positioning, deeper-set on the property, and dirt-floor “basement” level creates one of the coolest microclimates on the grounds – a stark contrast to the sun-drenched heights of Camp Nelson B from last year’s release.

For the 2025 edition, Eddie Russell selected barrels exclusively from the fifth floor of the seven-story rickhouse, where the cooler environment allows for slower, more nuanced flavor development. Bottled at a robust barrel proof of 128 – making it the highest-proof Russell’s Reserve release to date – and non-chill filtered to preserve its full character, Single Rickhouse 2025 is crafted for true bourbon connoisseurs and collectors.

“Camp Nelson E is one of the most interesting aging environments we have, completely different from where we’ve pulled from in the past,” Master Distiller Eddie Russel said in a news releasel. “The barrels from the fifth floor have this beautiful balance of dark fruit, baking spice, and rich oak that felt true to Russell’s Reserve, but also completely its own. That’s exactly what this series is about – celebrating the uniqueness of each rickhouse and how it helps shape the whiskey we love.”

The Single Rickhouse Collection is a testament to Eddie Russell’s decades-long dedication to bourbon, built on nearly 45 years of hands-on experience. Camp Nelson E offers a bold new chapter in his exploration of place-driven whiskey, delivering a rich and complex whiskey, non-chill filtered and bottled at a barrel proof of 128, to be savored and enjoyed.

Russell’s Reserve’s Single Rickhouse Camp Nelson E is now available for a limited time at $300 SRP per 750 ML bottle at select retailers in U.S. markets as well as at the Wild Turkey Distillery Visitor Center. It will also be featured as part of a special vertical tasting of the Single Rickhouse Collection on October 27, 2025, hosted by Associate Master Blender Bruce Russell.
