Pursuit Spirits announced “Found Footage,” a limited-edition collaboration with Atlanta’s Shortbarrel. The barrel proof expression will be officially released at the Kentucky Bourbon Festival on Friday, September 11, available first at the Pursuit Spirits booth while supplies last.

The story behind Found Footage sounds like local folklore. Whispers of a legendary beast guarding the ultimate maple-finished bourbon deep in the woods turned out to be entirely true. To draw the creature out, Pursuit Spirits laid down its signature Double Oak Rye as bait. 

The resulting capture produced a one-of-a-kind blend marrying Shortbarrel’s acclaimed Sapsquatch maple-finished bourbon with Pursuit’s fan-favorite United Double Oak Rye. The grainy, recovered camera tape inspired the release’s name and custom label design.

Bottled in a 700ml format at 112.4 proof, Found Footage carries an MSRP of $99.99. 

“When we talked to our friends at Shortbarrel about doing a collaboration project we wanted to take our best whiskeys and combine them to be something totally wild,” Ryan Cecil, Master Blender and Co-Founder of Pursuit Spirits, said in a news relesae. “By marrying their sweet Sapsquatch bourbon with our Pursuit United Double Oak Rye Tobacco and Oak Bomb profiles we created a rare bottle worth stalking the woods for.”

“This collaboration was all about seeing what happens when two distinct flavor profiles collide,” Clinton Dugan, Co-Founder of Shortbarrel, said. “The camera tape might be blurry, but the whiskey is so good your friends are going to swear you made the whole story up.”

Festival attendees can visit the Pursuit Spirits booth starting at 2:00pm on Friday, September 11 to purchase “Found Footage”. The release will begin after the first Between Two Barrels session. The release will later be available at Seelbach’s and at Pursuit Spirits on Whiskey Row.
