Highly Underrated Bourbons That You Can Find (With Jason Callori of The Mash & Drum)
On Fred’s latest live stream, he was joined by Jason Callori from the YouTube show The Mash and Drum. Together, they tasted what they believe are – per the title – some highly underrated bourbons that you can actually find.
Let’s face it, the whole world is on the lookout for Blanton’s Single Barrel, which just makes it that much harder to find. But when you’re out and about, scouting liquor store shelves, you just might find something to hold you over in the process. Interestingly, Blanton’s gets discussed quite a lot along the way. (Example: The term “Horsie Chasers” came up more than once.)
Here are some of the bourbons and whiskeys they tasted and talked about:
Spirits of French Lick Lee W. Sinclair (Indiana)
Ironroot Harbinger (Texas)
TX Bourbon Cask Strength (Texas)
George Remus Straight Bourbon (Indiana)
Remus Repeal Reserve (Indiana)
Rare Breed (Kentucky) (Fred: “I love this stuff.”)
Russell’s Reserve Single Barrel (Kentucky) (Jason: “I’ll take this all day over any Blanton’s, every day of the week.”)
1792 Bottled in Bond (Kentucky) (Fred: “This is, like, really great every day, you-can-find-it bourbon.”)
Stonehammer Bourbon (Kentucky) (Barton-sourced private label brand available at Kroger.)
