Michter’s Announces $5,000 Whiskey
Michter’s announced its Celebration Sour Mash today. The price tag is around $5,000, according to a press release.
Only 258 bottles available, it’s the first Celebration release in three years and hits stores in December.
Blended by Willie Pratt before his retirement as Michter’s Master Distiller and his transition to Michter’s Master Distiller Emeritus, Celebration includes Pratt’s favorite stocks of Kentucky Straight Bourbon and Kentucky Straight Rye. The six barrels chosen ranged from over a decade to nearly 33 years old, the company said.
The 2016 release is 116.8 proof (58.4% alcohol by volume) and will be available in the U.S. and select export markets, Michter’s said.
