Castle & Key Distillery announced the release of its first whiskey: Restoration Rye.

The distillery opened in 2014 on the site of the former Old Taylor Distillery; Restoration Rye pays tribute to the new distillery’s restoration of the grounds.

In addition, Castle & Key announced the releases of Roots of Ruin Gin and Sacred Spring Vodka, featuring new bottle design. All three will be available in Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee, South Carolina, Texas and Georgia.

Restoration Rye is actually being released in two batches, both with different flavor profiles. Batch #1 is created from a blend of 60 barrels, while Batch #2 is comprised of 57 barrels. During the blending process, barrels are grouped into pods with specific sensory profiles. Those pods are then blended to achieve their respective flavor profiles.

Batch 1 is a 13,200-bottle release, bottled at 103 proof, with a MSRP of $39.99; Batch 2 numbers 12,540 bottles, is bottled at 99 proof, with a MSRP of $39.99.
