Buffalo Trace Releases 2021 Double Eagle Very Rare Bourbon 20-Year

Bourbon

February 3, 2021

Buffalo Trace Distillery announced the annual release of its 20-year-old Double Eagle Very Rare Bourbon, the third release in the series.

The bourbon was aged for two decades on the lower floors of Buffalo Trace’s warehouses, which is twice as long as the standard 10-year-old Eagle Rare Bourbon release.

While the 2021 release will release with the same packaging as previous releases, this release was bottled at 101 proof, a nod to the original proof of Eagle Rare Bourbon when it was first released in 1975.

The packaging includes a crystal decanter and silver presentation box that consists of two sliding doors, imprinted with a design similar to eagle feathers. The decanter features two sculptured crystal glass eagles, one inside of the bottle and one serving as the stopper.

Only 199 of these bottles were produced and each bottle includes an individually numbered letter of authenticity noting it is from this specific collection. The SRP for Double Eagle Very Rare is $2,000.
