St. George Spirits 40th Anniversary single malt

St. George Spirits announced it will celebrate its 40th anniversary with the release of an extremely limited-edition bottling of single malt whiskey.

Bottled at 48% ABV and limited to 1,982 bottles (to honor the year the distillery was founded), this one-of-a-kind bottling of 40th Anniversary Edition is a rare collectible for whiskey connoisseurs.

To create this one-time-only release, St. George head distiller/blender Dave Smith sampled 600-plus casks from the distillery’s whiskey library, ultimately selecting just 14 to create the whiskey that went into the bottle. Sourced from barrels that range from four years old to one of the oldest casks in stock, it is a trip through the St. George Spirits warehouses. Details on cooperage and tasting notes are here.

In addition, Lot 22 will soon be making its way into the world. Bottles of Lot 22 have already started shipping from the distillery to distributors, and will be landing on shelves across the country through the rest of the year.

St. George set aside several hundred bottles of both the 40th Anniversary Edition and Lot 22 for whiskey fans to be able to purchase at the distillery on Saturday, Nov. 12, 11 a.m.–3 p.m. The price for the 40th Anniversary single malt is $500, limit two bottles per person. Lot 22 is $100, limit one bottle per person. All sales are first-come, first-served.

Bottles of 40th Anniversary Edition single malt and Lot 22 also will be making their way to most of the states where St. George has distribution starting in early November and continuing through the end of the year. They also should be available on spirits delivery services like Drizly, Gopuff, Instacart, and Minibar each tap into a wide network of retailers and may be able to help you locate bottles.
