Orphan Barrel the release of a new bourbon expression: Fanged Pursuit Kentucky Straight Bourbon Aged 17 Years. 

This introduction marks the first North American non-chill filtered Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey to be introduced in the Orphan Barrel collection. The Fanged Pursuit label artwork captures the essence of the liquid within, showcasing a lone Kentucky bobcat silently prowling its native Bluegrass State’s forests. This label mirrors the bourbon’s aging process— unfolding with slow and careful precision, driven by a relationship with its environment to reach its remarkable potential.

Influenced by the heartland of Kentucky Bourbon and years of whiskey-making expertise, this untamed spirit was aged in charred American Oak barrels for 17 years As a non-chill filtered whiskey, Fanged Pursuit offers a richer taste by retaining fats, proteins, and oils that are removed during chill filtering. This process adds complexity, enhancing flavor, aroma, and mouthfeel, while preventing chill haze.

“Fanged Pursuit is a standout for those who savor the artistry and depth of American bourbon-making,” Fanged Pursuit Lead Blender Delicia James said in a news release. “The bobcat proudly symbolizes not only the spirit of the bourbon itself, but also the continuous evolution of the Orphan Barrel collection, highlighting the distinct character of each release and the unique story behind every bottle.”

Crafted from a mashbill of 68-74% corn, 18-22% rye, and 8-10% malted barley, Fanged Pursuit is available at select spirits retailers nationwide with a suggested retail price of $200 for 750mL, and became available for purchase exclusively in the U.S. on March 1, 2025.
