Loch Lomond, Glen Scotia Gain U.S. Distribution
Scotch whisky makers Loch Lomond and Glen Scotia recently entered into distribution agreements with Foley Family Wines & Spirits.
Loch Lomond, a classic Highlands distillery known for its use of Straight Neck stills, has an SRP of $59.99 for a 750ml bottle and seeks to expand its footprint in the U.S. market. It is bottled at 92% ABV.
The brand’s signature Loch Lomond 12-Year-Old Perfectly Balanced offers an approachable flavor profile for the American consumer ready to explore international single malt whiskies.
Loch Lomond showcases the combined impacts of extra-long fermentation periods, carefully selected yeast strains, innovative distillation methods, and closely monitored maturation. By pinpointing these four critical elements of the production process, Loch Lomond’s style of orchard fruit, honey sweetness, and soft smoke was created.
Additionally, Loch Lomond is one of only four distilleries in Scotland with an on-site cooperage. The Scotch Whisky brand employs 10 qualified coopers, who work on approximately 22 casks per day, which means more than 30,000 casks will be checked, repaired, or rejuvenated each year.
“We have the vast potential to bring both new and experienced U.S. whisky drinkers into the Loch Lomond fold,” Loch Lomond Master Blender Michael Henry said in a news release. “If you asked me today what I would reach for time and again from our portfolio, I would have to say the 12-Year-Old Perfectly Balanced.
“Not only is this expression the best representation of our Highlands whisky, but it’s also a superlative example of our signature distillery style.”

Meanwhile, Glen Scotia is reintroducing its non-chill filtered 10-Year-Old expression to a new audience of American drinkers. Hailing from Campbeltown – the smallest of Scotland’s five designated whisky regions – Glen Scotia also is expanding its footprint in the U.S. market. A 750ml bottle of Glen Scotia 10-Year-Old is available at fine retailers nationwide and online at us.glenscotia.com with an SRP of $74.99.
Glen Scotia 10-Year-Old is an authentic representation of Campbeltown – one of the few regions that has a unique, identifiable flavor profile found nowhere else in Scotch whisky: a maritime character with a thick, oily mouthfeel and essence of tropical green fruits and citrus.
The whisky is distilled on a swan neck, copper pot still, barreled in first fill ex-bourbon barrels, and aged in both dunnage and palletized warehouses that are maritime-adjacent along the Firth of Clyde on the Kintyre Peninsula.
“Glen Scotia has a unique place in Scotch Whisky lore dating back to 1832,” Master Distiller Iain McAllister said. “While we celebrate our history as one of only three remaining Campbeltown distilleries, we’re keenly aware of the evolving palates of today’s modern whisky drinkers and our portfolio is representative of that juxtaposition of past and present.
“At Glen Scotia, we produce two styles of whisky – peated and non-peated – which are heavily influenced by our proximity to the ocean. These maritime nuances are perfectly represented in our signature 10-Year-Old whisky.” To learn more, visit https://us.glenscotia.com.
