London Distillery Company to Release Second Expression
The London Distillery Company announced the release of The Golden Union: Release No.1 – A Field in England, a blended malt whisky blend featuring an additional whiskey from Adnams Distillery.
This marks the U.K. distillery’s second release since its revival earlier this year. The previous expression, Renascence: The Revival Release, sold out in less than 24 hours.
Bottled at 50% ABV, the new blend features malt whiskies matured in both hogsheads and barrels from multiple vintages. Additionally, the whisky showcases a tripartite label design inspired by TLDC’s logo depicting a drop falling into the Thames Basin.
The Golden Union series arrives as England’s whisky industry experiences significant expansion. More than 50 licensed distilleries now produce whisky across the country, marking a dramatic increase from just a decade ago.
“At The London Distillery Company, we’ve long believed in the potential of English whisky,” London Distillery Company Managing Director and Whisky Maker Matt McKay said in a statement. “And with The Golden Union, we’re proud to celebrate that belief by launching an ongoing series that puts English malt whisky – in all its diversity – center stage.”
Unlike most whisky-producing countries, English distilleries operate without rigid regulations, allowing for more experimentation with production methods and cask types.
The Golden Union is set to launch on Monday, June 30, with an SRP of $49.95 (£49.95).
