PaPaw’s Ridge, a new whiskey brand hailing from Shelbyville, Kentucky, announced the launch of its first release: PaPaw’s Ridge Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. 

Founded by the Nethery family, the brand honors their patriarch, Roy “PaPaw” Nethery, a Shelby County native, hardworking farmer, and lover of life’s simple pleasures. The family’s farmland, rooted in the region since the 1800s, has been passed down through generations and now serves as the home of their distillery, preserving a legacy of both agriculture and craftsmanship. PaPaw’s Ridge Bourbon is now available in Florida, with expanded distribution planned in additional states beginning in early 2026.

PaPaw’s Ridge isn’t a place you’ll find on a map; it’s the Nethery family’s affectionate name for a ridge on Roy’s old farmland. PaPaw to Autumn Nethery, the Co-Owner & VP of Operations at PaPaw’s Ridge, was a larger-than-life character who, in his later years, preferred shooting the breeze over hunting during family trips on the ridge. 

Inspired by Roy’s spirit and values, the Nethery family created this bourbon using locally grown yellow corn, crafting a whiskey meant for good times shared with good people, whether deep in the woods or gathered around the table.

“PaPaw’s Ridge is more than just a bourbon brand, it’s a tribute to the man who taught us that the best moments in life don’t need much more than good company and a glass of something honest,” Nethery said in a news release. “We crafted this whiskey with that same spirit – simple, high-quality, and made to be shared. Every pour is a toast to our PaPaw’s stories, laughter, and the legacy he left behind.”

PaPaw’s Ridge Kentucky Straight Bourbon (43% ABV/86 Proof) is aged for a minimum of 4 years, and has a mash bill of yellow corn, rye, and barley. It is available in Publix retail locations throughout Florida, and on the Online Spirit Shop.
