Hinterhaus Distilling Releases Singularity Single Malt
As Hinterhaus Distilling gets ready to celebrate its fifth anniversary, it announced the release of a new American Single Malt Whiskey product, Singularity.
The first iteration of this special bottling of the distillery’s single malt program features a port cask finish, creating rich layers of cherry and toffee alongside its distinctive cereal notes.
“Only our rarest single malt whiskey casks will wear the Singularity badge,” head distiller and founder Nate Randall said in a news release. “After 5 years in production, we’re excited to showcase some of these unique barrels of American Single Malt that we’ve been anxiously awaiting.”
The first iteration of Singularity features a maltbill comprised of malt from Admiral Maltings (Alameda, CA) and Great Western (Pocatello, ID) which is detailed on the backside of the label. Aged in a combination of Hinterhaus ex-American Single Malt casks and new medium toast #3 charred oak, the distillery finished this sumptuous single malt in an 11 year old California Port French Oak cask.
Full malting and aging transparency is listed on the label. As is always the case with Hinterhaus whiskeys, this product is non-chill filtered and without added colorants.
Due to its limited nature, this product is currently only available at Hinterhaus Distilling’s bottle shop in Arnold, CA. Future batches may be available for shipping. The distillery offers a second American Single Malt product, Discovery, which is available at select CA and CO retailers as well as on the distillery’s website for shipping: www.HinterhausDistilling.com
“At Hinterhaus, being a part of the American Single Malt landscape has influenced everything we do,” Randall said. “We are eager to add a distinctively northern California approach to this age-old style of whiskey and look forward to what the future holds.”
