Rare Character Whiskey announced the inaugural annual release of Old Cassidy, a Kentucky bourbon crafted from the finest barrels in their collection and bottled at cask strength.

Distilled and aged in Kentucky and bottled in Lexington, this release represents a deliberate selection of barrels ranging in age, with 18-year-old Kentucky bourbon as the base of the blend. Each barrel was chosen for its unique contribution of flavor and character, then blended to create a bourbon that is greater than the sum of its parts, rich, complex, and harmonious.

Previously, Old Cassidy was released as two distinct single barrel offerings – one in collaboration with Frank Dobbins III and the other in connection with Unicorn Auctions.

Now moving into wider, though still limited release, Old Cassidy 2025 is bottled at 61.50% ABV (123 proof) and stands as the ultimate expression of Rare Character’s dedication to curating singular American whiskey.

“Old Cassidy is meant to showcase the best of the best,” Pete Nevenglosky, co-founder of Rare Character Whiskey, said in a news release. “Every barrel that went into this release was hand selected, and together they form something truly remarkable. This is a bourbon that honors Kentucky tradition while carving its own path forward.”

The Old Cassidy annual release will continue each year, with future editions exploring new combinations of rare and distinctive barrels, always presented at cask strength.
