Denver-based Laws Whiskey House announced the release of MOSAIC, an American Single Malt crafted from a marriage of eight unique malt barrels. 

Each cask stands on its own, together forming a balanced, expressive whiskey that embodies the depth and distinct character of Laws Whiskey House. Like the art form it’s named for, MOSAIC brings together diverse elements to create a unified whole. 

This vertical marriage features eight distinctly different malt barrels made from mashbills with specialty malts including toasted malt, malted four-row Scottish barley grown in Colorado, oak-smoked malt custom-smoked with Laws’ own barrel staves, peat-smoked malt, and touches of chocolate and crystal malt. Aging took place across an array of barrels, from standard #3 char new American oak, to used San Luis Valley Rye casks, re-barreled Laws brandy barrels, and a French oak Armagnac cask.

The final composition includes:

• 44% seven-year-old barrels

• 18% eight-year-old barrels

• 38% nine-year-old barrels

The ORIGINS Series

MOSAIC joins the distillery’s revered ORIGINS Series, a collection that pays tribute to Laws Whiskey House’s earliest days and ongoing commitment to craftsmanship. The story began in 2011 with 28 hand-selected barrels from the distillery’s first spirit runs, each marked with a single word: ORIGINS. These barrels, many funded by friends and family, laid the foundation for the Laws Whiskey House brand.

Nearly a decade later, the ORIGINS Series debuted with ORIGINS Barrel #9 in December 2020, the oldest whiskey ever released by the distillery at the time. In 2021, the 10-year anniversary release, ORIGINS X, was crafted from the final three barrels of the original 2011 batch.

Now, in 2025, MOSAIC honors the recent passage of the American Single Malt Act and showcases the depth and individuality that define the category. Each annual ORIGINS expression stands as a testament to continued innovation at Laws Whiskey House.
