Green River Distilling Co. announced it will launch Green River Wheated Full Proof Bourbon, available in 25 markets beginning February 13.

Green River Wheated Full Proof is comprised of its signature wheated recipe (70% corn, 21% wheat, and 9% malted barley). With a suggested retail price of $49.99, Wheated Full Proof delivers bold character and barrel-strength intensity while keeping Green River’s hallmark of approachability and value.

Green River’s wheated bourbon recipe has become a favorite among bourbon enthusiasts, beloved for its quality, flavor, and remarkable value in a growing category that’s often crowded with bottles priced far above MSRP. The addition of Wheated Full Proof Bourbon takes this recipe and turns it up to full proof to deliver an even bigger flavor experience.

“Wheated Full Proof is our way of giving fans a richer, more intense experience of the wheated bourbon they already love,” Dan Callaway, Master Blender, said in a news release. “We kept the same mashbill and the same commitment to balance, then selected and blended barrels that truly shine at barrel strength. The result is a more robust expression that still drinks like Green River.”

Presented at a variable batch-proof ranging from 109-116, the initial batch is bottled at 109.3 proof (54.65% ABV). Aged for five to seven years in Green River’s signature clay tile warehouses, the barrels experience a naturally insulated environment that accelerates flavor development. 

Wheated bourbon represents roughly one-third of the North American bourbon market, with growth projected through 2031, even as average prices continue to climb across the category (Allied Market Research). At the same time, enthusiast demand has increasingly tilted toward higher proof ocerings, with 100-plus proof bourbons dominating many top rankings and full-proof releases showing strong growth across the category.

Subtle but meaningful design cues distinguish the new expression, including a custom copper-accented tax strip to clearly set it apart from the core lineup.
