Kings County Distillery to Celebrate 1 Millionth Bottle Sold
Kings County Distillery is set to celebrate 1,000,000 bottles sold with an ultra-limited special release and the induction of a new relic into the Distillery’s Boozeum.
Today, Kings County Distillery — the vanguard of New York’s craft spirits renaissance — announces a defining moment: the sale of its one-millionth bottle. In an era where industrial distillers and non-distilling bottlers have started to see their fortunes wane, Kings County has achieved what many thought impossible for an independent craft distiller: true scale without compromise.
To immortalize the moment, the symbolic Millionth Bottle will be permanently installed in the Distillery’s Boozeum, joining other artifacts of New York City’s distilling history.
To celebrate and commemorate the moment, and as an offering to friends and fans who built the brand, Kings County is pulling the first 500 bottles from the millionth bottle run of its most popular label for a Commemorative Limited Edition Straight Bourbon. This hand-numbered release, now carrying a 4-year age statement, represents the everyday excellence of the distillery’s mashing, distilling, and aging.
The in-person launch: A limited physical allocation will drop at the historic Gatehouse tasting room on March 27th at 7 p.m. EST. Event partners include Vita Coco, Just Ice Tea, and IQBar.
Online Release
These limited-edition bourbon bottles will be available Monday, March 30th at 2 p.m. EST at kingscountydistillery.com.
“Kings County started selling in small 200ml and 375ml bottles, which connected the brand to a wide audience with a small production,” co-founder and distiller Colin Spoelman said in a news release. “Kings County has always produced the whiskey under its own name from New York grain, mashing, distilling, and aging in house — a rarity for whiskey brands, including some that purport to be local. To hit one million bottles is more than a sales figure; it’s a mandate from a new generation of drinkers who demand creativity and excellence over industrial products cloaked in legacy marketing.”
The Distillery will open its doors for an exclusive celebration at The Gatehouse (7 PM–9 p.m.). While the event is primarily for the friends, family, bar, restaurant, and retail accounts who fueled this decade-long journey, a limited number of public tickets have been released via the website for those wishing to toast to a million more. Kings County will also announce a significant new program at the event, and attendees will be the first to learn of the project.
Since its inception, Kings County has operated at the intersection of tradition and subversion. By blending pre-Prohibition techniques with an international perspective and a New York City ethos, they have created a portfolio — ranging from Peated Bourbon to Irish-Style Whiskey and American Single Malt — that has captivated tastemakers around the world.
“As the spirits landscape shifts,” Spoelman continued, “Kings County stands as the definitive standard for craft spirits. We aim to embody the dynamic, creative excellence of New York City in our whiskeys and share them widely with the broader world. 1 million bottles is only the beginning.”
