Wheel Horse Whiskey is launching a new Limited Edition release today with the debut of an all-new Rum-Finished Double Mash Whiskey. This will be launched alongside the annual return of fan-favorite Double Oak Bourbon.

The new Rum-Finished Double Mash is a whiskey that blends carefully selected Bourbon and Rye barrels to create a layered flavor profile that balances rich sweetness with signature spice. Aged for a minimum of five years and bottled at 101 proof, the whiskey undergoes an extended finishing process of up to two years in three different styles of rum casks, delivering exceptional depth and complexity.

The result is a whiskey showcasing the best of both mash bills (70/21/9 Bourbon and 95/5 Rye).  Produced in an extremely limited run of just 2,000 bottles, the Rum-Finished Double Mash marks one of Wheel Horse’s most experimental releases to date, and has an SRP of $40. 

Also returning is Wheel Horse’s annual release of Double Oak Bourbon, a limited seasonal expression that received a 94-point rating from Wine Enthusiast. The five-year, 101-proof Bourbon begins with barrels aged over four years in new American oak before being re-casked for up to eight additional months in custom-crafted finishing barrels from ZAK Cooperage in Kentucky.

The secondary maturation process features 18-24 month open-air seasoned oak and custom char profiles, enhancing the whiskey with amplified layers of toasted oak and more. The Spring 2026 Double Oak release is limited to 2,500 bottles, and has an SRP of $40.
