La Pulga Tequila is now available in bars, restaurants, and liquor retailers in 13 U.S. states, including five states that have just opened this summer.

The brand’s new markets include Georgia, Michigan, and Ohio (with Republic National Distributing Company), Massachusetts (with M.S. Walker), and coming soon Kansas (with Standard Beverage). Additionally, La Pulga is distributed in Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, and in the military channel, with further markets opening soon.

Award-winning La Pulga Tequila – La Pulga Blanco, La Pulga Reposado, and La Pulga Añejo – was founded in Fort Worth, Texas (and crafted in Mexico) by three friends brought together by a shared passion for tequila and agave spirits. But even in Texas, a state with no shortage of tequila options, they struggled to find a tequila that was high-quality, all-natural, and genuinely affordable. So, they set out to create one themselves.

After several visits to Mexico, the founders partnered with a distillery in the Los Altos region of Jalisco that was quietly producing some of the finest artisanal tequila they had ever tasted, yet had little recognition or presence in the U.S. Working hand-in-hand with the distillery’s skilled maestro tequilero, they set out to capture that quality and craft a premium tequila with a character all its own.

All that remained was choosing a name, one that would honor the culture and pride that tequila represents on both sides of the border. They chose “La Pulga,” inspired by the lively and vibrant open-air flea markets found throughout Mexico and the Southern U.S., places where community, culture, and celebration intersect.
