Buzzard’s Roost Announces New Bourbon in Cooperation with Fred Minnick
Buzzard’s Roost Distillery announced a new single-barrel bourbon created with Fred Minnick in honor of the release of Minnick’s new book, “Bottom Shelf: How a Forgotten Brand of Bourbon Changed One Man’s Life.”
Minnick, an acclaimed bourbon expert, author, and judge, personally tasted and chose this barrel of bourbon with Jason Brauner. co-founder and master blender at Buzzard’s Roost. Brauner and Minnick are both known for their discerning palates and deep knowledge of whiskey. Their selection represents the pinnacle of quality and flavor.
Fred Minnick’s Club Marzipan Single Barrel Bourbon
This new single-barrel bourbon is 6 years old and has a mash bill of 60% corn, 36% rye and 4% malted barley. It underwent secondary maturation in one of Buzzard’s Roost’s custom-toasted barrels, which imparted complex flavors ranging from warm cinnamon coffee cake to chocolate-covered toffee, with a subtle pop of black pepper. It is 115.4 proof, and retails for $85.
“Our unique double oak process really comes through in the bourbon that Fred and I selected,” Brauner said in a news release. “I’ve known Fred for decades, and we had a great time choosing this barrel.”
Single Barrel Celebrates New Book
The release of Minnick’s Club Marzipan Single Barrel Bourbon release coincides with the publication of Minnick’s eighth book, “Bottom Shelf: How a Forgotten Brand of Bourbon Changed One Man’s Life.” The book has been described as:
