The Cooper Spirits Co. announced the Hochstadter’s Family Reserve Straight Rye Whiskey.

Sourced from Alberta Distillers Limited and bottled in Philadelphia, the 16-year-old, 7,500-bottle release is 123.8 proof and will be $199.99. It hits stores in April

The company said Robert J. Cooper, the late founder of The Cooper Spirits Company, chose these barrels.

The history behind the label, per a press release: “During the 19th century, Hochstadter’s was a range of spirits produced in New York with over 20 bottlings ranging from Batavia Arrack to Irish Whiskey and Rock and Rye. Hochstadter’s and Charles Jacquin et Cie, the Cooper family’s company, merged and the Hochstadter’s brand became part of the Cooper family portfolio until the late ‘40’s when the Hochstadter’s line was discontinued.

“Cooper Spirits resurrected the Hochstadter’s brand in 2013 with the introduction of Hochstadter’s Slow & Low Rock & Rye.”
