Copper Works Farmsmith Single Malt Whiskey bottle

As the Spokane Complex Fire continues to burn across Eastern Washington, Copperworks Distilling Co. is turning to a whiskey rooted in the region to support the community impacted by the disaster.

Throughout August, the Seattle-based distillery will donate $20 from every bottle sold of Farmsmith American Single Malt Whiskey to the H.O.M.E. Starts Here Spokane Complex Fire Relief Fund. The fund provides short- and long-term rent assistance, medical equipment, transportation services, and other critical resources to help the community recover.

Those who wish to contribute directly may also donate at https://my.spokanecity.org/endinghomelessness/donations.

Farmsmith was created to celebrate the barley fields of Washington by exploring the impact of single variety, single farm, and single growing year barley. The current release is made with single-varietal Genie barley grown 20 miles west of Spokane and malted by LINC Malt in Spokane, friends who have been instrumental to Copperworks’ distilling journey for many years.

LINC Malt honors the work of skilled Inland Northwest farmers, remains committed to farmer-owned farms, and prioritizes relationships that span the grain supply chain.

Local agriculture and local communities are at the heart of every Copperworks release.  The distillery is committed to sourcing local barley, including Salmon-Safe certified barley when available, and celebrating the unique characteristics of Washington’s growing regions through its spirits.

“The farming families and partners around Spokane aren’t just our suppliers; they are our friends,” Jason Parker, President and Co-Founder of Copperworks Distilling Co., said in a news release “Our thoughts are with the individuals, families, and communities affected by the Spokane Complex Fire.”
